Harvest Festival

Join us Saturday October 26, 2024 from 1-4 pm. Fun for all ages.

We’re still finalizing plans but here’s what we have so far:

  • Wear your Halloween costume or any family-friendly attire. Prizes awarded.
  • Decorate a pumpkin.
  • Have fun with our fall themed photo opp spot and make a frame for it to take home.
  • Win door prize tickets in our ever popular Harvest Trivia contest.
  • Enter our new Dessert Decorating Contest and win cash prizes for your artistic effort (see below).
  • Win a decorated dessert in our traditional Cake Walk.
  • Meet our vendors, watch a farm video, enjoy live music, and win great door prizes.
  • At the end of the day, make and enjoy your own ice cream sundae.

Harvest Themed Dessert Decorating Contest

 At the 2024 Harvest Festival by the Winona Grange #271

Enter your best decorated dessert – cakes, pies, cookies, etc. – in our dessert decorating contest and earn cash prizes. (First Prize $100, Second Prize $50, Third Prize $25 and People’s Choice $25).

Registration Deadline:          October 20, 2024

Entry Fee:                              Free

Set Up:                                   October 26, 2024, at 1:00 pm

Judging:                                 October 26, 2024, at 3:00 pm

Who can enter:                      Adult, 18 years and above, beginners or intermediate skilled decorators (less than 50 hours of sugar instruction.)

Contest Rules

Entries become the property of the Harvest Festival and will be used as prizes in the Pie Promenade. Submissions must be home baked and prepared in a sanitary manner. Please do not submit anything that needs to be refrigerated.

Each entry needs to be accompanied by a completed entry form. Each entry will be marked with entry number and name of entry piece, for example, ”Entry #12: Harvest on the Farm.” Entries will be judged on the following:

Incorporation of required elements 20 points
Creativity & Originality15 points
Neatness of cake covering 10 points
Neatness of decorations10 points
Difficulty of techniques15 points
Use of color15 points
Overall appearance15 points

Cash prizes will be announced towards the end of the event, contestants must be present to win.

Required Elements: each entry must contain design elements that-

  1. represent the harvest of Oregon crops
  2. picture an element of farm or community life in fall
  3. incorporate elements of nature
  4. use of appealing design patterns
